The file that you will download from our site is a zip file. It is a collection of one or more files and/or folders that is compressed into a single file for easy transportation and compression.

Mac User: Double-click a zip file and you should see a new folder that contains all of your files.

Windows User: Double-click OR right-click a zip file and select EXTRACT ALL. By default, the unzipped folder will be in the same location as the zip file, but you can also click the Browse button to select an alternative location.

*If you are using mobile devices to download the file, you may need a third-party app to open the zip file.

Most of the newer devices come preinstalled with an app that can unzip files such as the Files app. You can also go to the App Store to download a free app for this.

PNG file is also compatible with the most design and word processor applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Keynote, iMovie, Canva, etc.

If you don't see layers in Cricut Design Space or Silhouette, please double-check and make sure that you upload the SVG file and not PNG.

Layered SVG is a cut file with multiple layers for multi-colored design. Layers allow you to be able to separate colors and cut by color which is great for making adhesive vinyl and heat transfer vinyl for t-shirts, window decals, coffee mugs, etc. It's also great for paper crafting such as handmade cards, event signs, and banners, especially when you need to create dimensional pieces instead of flat print outs.

Our SVG files are carefully made for layering and tested multiple times with Cricut Design Space and Silhouette to make sure that there is no error in the design. You will be able to ungroup the design and separate colors easily.

Our design elements fit together perfectly like a puzzle. We set up the layers to avoid the overlapping (for smooth vinyl!) as much as possible but also try to keep it simple so you can layer your vinyl with ease.

Yes, some computers may display SVG files as a Chrome or HTML document. They may even have Google Chrome or a web browser icon but they are SVG files and should work with your cutting software as usual.

The best way to open a SVG file is to open your cutting machine app first, then open SVG file from the app.

For Cricut Design Space:

- Open the Design Space application if you already installed it on your computer/device. Or go to https://design.cricut.com/ to use it via an internet browser.

- Click on “New Project” and use the upload button to upload a SVG file to Design Space. Fill in the name and tag if needed. Click “Save”.

- Next you will be on the library screen and should see your new SVG there. Click on a design that you want to use, then click “Insert Images”.

For Silhouette Studio:

- To use SVG file, you must have a Silhouette Studio Designer or Business edition. If you have a Basic edition, please use DXF file.

- Open Silhouette Studio application.

- From Silhouette menu, go to File > Open and locate the file. Click “OK” to open.

- OR you can drag and drop the file right into Silhouette artboard.

Unsupported file type warning usually happens when you upload a file format that is not supported by Cricut Design Space. Make sure that you unzipped the file that you downloaded from our website, and select the SVG file form the folder. All of our designs include a DXF file which is not supported by Cricut Design Space, so please double-check the file format when uploading.

If you select the correct SVG file and still receive the notification, you can try re-download the file from the website and unzip it again, or send us a message and we will be happy to assist!

All of our SVG files are layered and you will be able to see it in the Layers panel on Cricut Design Space (for Silhouette, go to menu > Panels > Layers).

If you do not see layers and can't ungroup the design, most likely you have uploaded a PNG file instead of SVG. PNG file only shows 1 flat layer that says Cut / Print, and you won't be able to ungroup the design. Just delete it, and re-upload with the SVG file.

This is for Cricut Design Space user:

Our SVG files are layered by color and cut ready. However, if you go to "Make It" on Cricut Design Space and see that the design has moved around and are not in the correct position, it means that you forgot to attach the design first.

By default, Design Space has rearranged the parts of the design to save space on the cutting mat. Unless you use the attach tool to hold the placement of your design, Design Space will always rearrange your designs.

What you need to do is go back to your canvas. If you haven't done it already, just click on the design once to ungroup each color (all elements with the same color should still be grouped together and in their position). Then click on each group of color and click the "Attach" button located on the lower right corner. You need to do this for each separate color. Once that's done you can go to "Make It" and should see that the design is locked in position and ready to go! Visit our tutorial on how to do this.
